Clones Film Festival I Never Cry (Jak Najdalej Stad)

(Jak Najdalej Stad) - Friday 7pm Post Office

Rebellious Polish teenager Ola is determined to get her driving licence and receive the car promised to her by her estranged father, who works in Ireland.

But when a phone call brings news that her father has died in an accident, Ola, as the only member of her family fluent in English, must travel alone to Dublin to arrange repatriation of his body and sort out the necessary paperwork.

Alone in an unfamiliar country, the 17-year-old’s trip takes her on a personal and emotional journey, as she begins to learn more about the father she never really knew, and finds more understanding than she realised she was looking for.

Winner - Michael Dwyer Discovery Prize, Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival 2021
