Clones Film Festival, in association with Clones Credit Union, wishes to further develop its support for film production in the town, and County Monaghan, by commissioning an original short film, shot in Clones and the surrounding areas in 2023.
Under this commission by Clones Film Festival, an award of €4,000 will be made towards the cost of the film production; scripting, shooting, editing, and screening.
The Short Film will then be one of the highlights of this year’s festival, taking centre stage on the closing night of Clones Film Festival Sunday 29th October 2023.
Short film, short documentary, and short animation will all be considered.
Applications are invited for original script ideas from filmmakers at all stages of their development.
All entrants will be updated as decisions are made.
Requirements:
The selected filmmaker & team will be required to:
- Produce a locally shot short; film, documentary, or animation, with a minimum run time of 5 minutes, and no longer than 20 minutes.
- Include local street scenes or iconic historic location shots within Clones Town, or the locality. Examples include;
- The Round Tower,
- Celtic Cross,
- Old Abbey,
- The Diamond,
- Fermanagh Street,
- St.Tiernach’s Park,
- The Canal Stores,
- The Butteryard,
- Any of the churches.
- Use local extras where required.
- Meet the deadline date set by the committee
- Attend, and screen the short on closing night of Clones Film Festival, Sunday 29th October 2023
