Director Biography - Eamonn Murphy

Following the success of his previous short film, "Lost Memories" Eamonn Murphy received funding for his latest short film "A Better You" from Screen Ireland. He is currently developing his first feature project with the support of Screen Skills Ireland and Creative Media Europe.

He currently resides in Dublin, Ireland.

Director Biography - Edwina Casey

ALGORITHM is Edwina’s debut short film which premiered in July 2020, winning her the Bingham Ray New Talent Award in association with Magnolia Pictures (USA). Also in 2020 she won JETS pitching competition at the Berlin Film Festival for her feature film project "Butterfly". She is currently in development with Vertigo Releasing and Wildcard Distribution for her debut film a crime drama set in Dublin. In 2019 she directed several commercials including the TVC “The Swimmer” for telecom company Eir about sport star Alan Corcoran swimming the length of Ireland for charity. She has also worked as a revival director in opera, most recently at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet company in Oslo. Irish-born Edwina originally studied directing at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in the UK.

Director Biography - Claire Byrne

Claire Byrne is a film and commercials director from Dublin Ireland. Since graduating from the Screen Academy Scotland in 2013 with a master's degree in Film Direction Claire has gone on to work in several departments in the film industry in Ireland and Canada and has directed 4 short films.
Her short films 'Spent' and 'Her Name Is' have screened at festivals worldwide and both shorts won 1st place at the WFT Ireland short film showcase in 2018 and 2019.
Her third short film 'Sister This' will screen at Dublin International Film Festival 2020 where Claire is nominated for the Aer Lingus Discovery award, which celebrates emerging talent in the Irish film industry.
Her latest short film Ascending Grace was funded by Bumble UK as part of their female film force initiative and will premiere in London in February 2020.


Augustus, a literate, escaped slave masquerading as a free man in Massachusetts just prior to the Civil War, experiences nightmares of his son's death and a future America that resembles the struggles of his own time. Augustus soon realizes the horrors of slavery and racial inequality will only continue if he remains complicit. He’s left with one choice; speak out or risk his freedom.

Director Biography - Jon Alston

JON ALSTON - A third-round draft NFL draft pick in 2006, retired in 2011 to pursue storytelling. Since retirement, Jon has directed short films, commercials and music videos. Jon's first screenplay and subsequent directorial debut, RED BUTTERFLY, (which premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival) and attracted TONY award winner Wilson J. Heredia, International EMMY winner -Diogo Morgado, and Christine Evangelista who lead the E Network's series, THE ARRANGEMENT. Jon's work has amassed millions of views online and has been shown at multiple film festivals. In January of 2017, Jon enrolled at the School of Cinematic Arts at USC. Jon most recently served as Story Editor on the acclaimed TV series ALL AMERICAN and co-wrote the highest viewed episode of season one (All Eyez on Me). He recently wrote and directed the visual teaser for the Grammy nominated Hip-Hop artist, Wale's 6th studio album, "Wow, That's Crazy." Jon is currently adapting the OSCAR nominated short-doc, ST LOUIS SUPERMAN for the big screen. Jon’s latest short film, AUGUSTUS, a haunting period piece about an abolitionist with a twist is currently rounding the festival circuit in 2020.

Director Biography - Mark Dollard

This short is a response to the growing poverty and social degradation of Irish society in recent times. Homelessness figures have never been higher. Drug abuse is a common sight on the streets of our cities. Too often, drug addicts are dismissed and dehumanised. With this film, my aim is to use the tropes of horror cinema and vampire lore to show the human side of drug addiction, to provide an insight into the mind of someone who's being driven by a demon.

Matthieu MAUNIER-ROSSI Director

Matthieu Maunier-Rossi is a screenwriter and director. Geography and travels are at the core of all his projects. From 2014 to 2017, he wandered across the Caribbean, looking for new stories. His journey became a book (« Les îles buissonnières », Ed. Rudbeckias, 2018). After more than one year spent in Haiti working with NGOs, he went back to the island during the summer of 2018 to direct « Three blades ».

Director Biography - Aoife Nic Ardghail

Aoife Nic Ardghail is an actor, writer, voice over artist and former courts journalist. Her first TV gig was a starring role the teen drama Seacht, which spanned four series on Irish language channel TG4. She’s since had lead and supporting roles on other television dramas and more recently she’s begun making her own films, including the award-winning short, Casual. This debut short film, which she wrote, co-directed and starred in, won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Moscow Indie Film Festival 2018 and Best Music at the Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival (DISFMF) 2019. It also got an Honourable Mention at the 2018 Chicago Irish Film Festival. Aoife has also written and performed two solo plays in Dublin and London. She is currently working on two features, a concept album, as vocalist and lyricist.
